Busy, busy..

..as the Bendigo sheep and wool show gets close.
I can get photos done of progress, but takes time to then get them to computer.
Dyed tops are ongoing, dyed some more sock yarn, and m winding off 100gm lots of white 8ply Corriedale yarn for dyeing. Decided to spin up some of my dyed tops as I had sold more handspun yarn and this needed topping up.
I completed a new style jumper to sell at Bendigo but has now been sold and gone to Tasmania. so am halfway through another using Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply Pumpkin, and more machine knitting needs to be done.
And need I say Girgarre market is on this Sunday.
Tuesday and Wednesday are medical appointments for my mother.
Then Bendigo to set up on Thursday.

New wool tops..

..added to the website.
With a 2 day event in June, and a 3 day event in July, I am starting to slowly get more dyeing of products done.
So I have started with a few wool tops, and have started some sock yarn.
As well have added some more colours to my Poncho/Wrap.
Currently on the mid gauge machine I have a rolled shawl collared jacket.
so now the website is updated it is time to get back to the knitting machine.

It is time...

.. to start getting more items ready for the 2 and 3 day events coming up with the Echuca Steam Rally on the Queen's birthday long weekend in June, and the Bendigo Sheep and Wool show in July.
so a couple more yarns added to the website.
and I am adding new colours to the Poncho/Wrap as well. This garment is still selling well.

OK here goes...

It, by no means has been quiet here. In fact , quite busy but have been neglecting this blog quite badly.

The new Studio and shed complex is up and running.
I have been to France for the Coloured Sheep Congress and post-congress tour.
Attended the Echuca Steam Rally.
Prepared for and attended the Australian Sheep and Wool Show.
And kept going with my regular 3 markets per month.

So will pop a few pics on and see how it loos for me.
I think I need a reminder to tell me when to post!!!

Dairy up and running...

We bought new Jersey cows for the dairy and it has been a bit stressful for them as well as us, but hopefully soon things will settle down. Also I got the dreaded "cold" with sinus problems and the sore throat, which did not help. cell count has been a problem but hoping to get on top of this.

So, up early at 5am with a bit of breakfast, then down to the dairy yard forr me to feed my sheep and shut them into their other paddocks away from the dairy, and then the cows into the yard for milking. we have 54 milking cows at the moment and 4 calves we are feeding which will be sufficient for this season. A nice Jersey bull has been hired and arrived yesterday, and was extremely happy to see his new girls. He is a quiet boy which is good because I do not like being around bulls.

My craftwork has to continue, but sadly I have lost some hours, but as it approaches the warmer months I hope to get some spinning done. I will still be attending the 3 regular markets I attend, Nagambie, Girgarre, and Mooroopna, plus some sharing days and of course the Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show.

I continue to work on my machine knitting and have made a few more garment over the last few months, and hope to produce some summer cotton garments soon.

I have some fleeces washed waiting for picking and carding, so never a dull moment and more organisation will get me going.

Working at Crafting...

...is the focus of these days before Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show.
I have spun and dyed some more thick and thin wool skeins. Will I have enough???
I also have been dyeing some wool tops to create extra interest.
In progress... knitted jacket on the bulky machine, hand dyed natural 8ply wool yarn; fine machine knitted boucle scarf/shawl which I felting with the machine embellisher; 50 gm packs of natural wool batts for onselling; and have started spinning an alpaca fleece for a customer.
I won't have a lot of time to do photos for adding to the website as most of the stock I hope will sell at Bendigo.

Tomorrow is also the regular market at Girgarre.

Easter Markets...

Easter is coming TOO quickly and I have to do lots of work. More beanies, more fingerless mitts, scarves, handspun yarns.

I am currently working on as much as I can because there is a big Market at the Rushworth Festival this Saturday with a big crowd usually visiting this historic town. On Sunday the Tongala market is also happening.

I always look forward to all the visitors.

The lambs are still coming, now at 12 beautiful black lambs.

On the work front, I am Retiring from Nursing after 36 years. I will be looking forward to spending more time in the garden to get up to scratch, and keeping a better eye on the animals, and best of all start all the crafty wool things that I have been planning.

Bendigo Wool Show.... I am especially looking forward to this, as I will be sharing a stall (in my own right) with the North East Yarns. It is especially satisfactory because I am a member of this group of very talented people from the Nort East, where we bale our wool together to be processed into our yarn and jumpers. Amongst this group there are very talented, weavers, felters and knitters.
