This past month...

..has been busy.
Family commitments with parents with injuries. All siblings had to help where they could.
The Pop Up in Kyabram for me was far too quiet, and the wrong season. But that's okay. The only thing was that I was there too many days, without getting the work done at home.
Sales were reasonable, but I would have liked better.
Now if I can get this week over and get a little something done I will be happy.
Monday.. take Mum to optometrist to see if eye injury ok for cataract surgery Thursday
Tuesday.. lovely day yesterday at Milawa for Wang spinners to have Christmas lunch, fibre sandwich, spinning, Kris Kringle and be with good friends.
Wednesday.. lunch with the Echuca Wool & Craft group for Christmas breakup
Thursday.. Mum to Shepparton for cataract surgery, then pick her up and take her back home to Echuca.
Friday.. mum to Shepparton again for eye check.
Saturday.. Nagambie market, then home and pack to head off to Birregurra for 40th birthday celebrations of the Black & Coloured Sheep association.
Sunday return home late after the day's events.
Well I was going to add some photos but Google won't let me. I will have to find out what they have changed. Normally you can just add your photos as in Insert image. Darn!!

We are setting up a Pop Up indoor mini market in Kyabram..

..A few stallholders who regularly set up at markets around our area, are setting up in an empty shop in the main street of Kyabram.
There will be buttons and jewellery, myself with my woollie goodies, mosaics, handmade gifts , clothing and more. This is just a headsup.
Planned date is November 2nd, day before Melbourne Cup Day. The Bush Market will also be on that Friday.
As it is an empty shop, we won't have power but it will be light enough.

Extra market at Nagambie Lakes..

..tomorrow starting at 10am to 3pm.
Follow on Sunday with Mooroopna Farmers and Craft Market.
It has been busy with days out but hopefully I till have a good compliment of yarns, garments and accessories.

This week is busy but..

...not with crafting.
Tired after 2 markets, with the Sunday being a very long day starting at 4am and getting home at 6pm.
I have been spinning, and have started a beret combining commercial and handspun yarns.
In the meantime, I have 2 trips to Shepparton for Leigh's eye appointments to laser seal the detaching retina which was separating in 6 places. Nasty!
Also, a trip to Echuca to take some dyes to a customer, get a little shopping for my daughter whose youngest child who has been very ill with a chest infection this past week. Then visit my parents and see how my father is faring after his bout with pneumonia.
Whew! I look forward to next week with a trip to see Miss Fisher's fashion garments at Ripponlea on Wednesday, and my birthday on Tuesday.
Girgarre market is on this Sunday so hopefully get a few more items ready over the next couple of days.

Nagambie Market and Castlemaine Artits Market ....

This will be a big weekend for me, with 2 markets.
Saturday is my regular Market at Nagambie Lakes in my usual spot.
Castlemaine Artists Market on Sunday at the Castlemaine Primary School, cnr Uruqhart and Mostyn sts is a new one for me.
I will feel like a beginner, so worried about the amount of stock I have. Have been working on rebuilding stock levels, but all my projects do take time.
Attended a Fashion Parade and dinner put on by the Machine Knitter's Association on Wednesday night, so have some new inspirations to think about.

So, in a couple of weeks..

..I will be at Nagambie Lakes Community Market on the Saturday, Sep 5th, and a new, for me, Castlemaine Artists Market on the Sunday, Sept 6th.
So I have been busy spinning, and working on the knitting machine, and the knitter's loom.
Need to get more cardigans and jumpers done as well as beanies and scarves.
Sunday is Father's Day, so good for those last minute handmade gifts. Below is a selection of items ready to go. More on the way.

North East Yarns jumpers, ponchos, yarn, tops and felt batts are also available.
Along with my own hand dyed yarns, you will find hand dyed tops, scarves, beanies, and an assortment of other items, all made from the Natural Fibre Wool

Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show

...here I come. Will be in the Osborne building as part of the North East Yarns. Yarns, garments, accessories, wool tops, felt batts, etc.

Monday, July 6, 2015

Currently gearing up for Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show...

..Have been getting wool tops and yarn dyed. 3kg of tops done in single colours, still to do some multicolours yet. 4.5kg of 8ply yarn done in single tone on tone x 100gm skeins. As the skeins are 500gm lots, have to wind off 100gms first. Time consuming but getting it done.
All tops and yarn are an Australian product of sheep grown in Victorian. Definitely made in Australia. Corriedales!

Oh gosh...

..I know I have been neglectful. But my daughter and granddaughter had been her for 2 months and I have been very time poor. They have now found a new home and I hope things will be better. As a mother you never stop worrying.
Anyway I have managed to do the markets and continue making stuff.
Next weekend is the Queen's birthday long weekend so I will be at the Echuca Steam Rally on the Saturday and Sunday in the Indoor shed Market.
Please introduce yourself if you are visiting that weekend.

Sunday March 15 I will be at Mooroopna Market.

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

The March markets...

...have had a reasonably good start with Nagambie Lakes Community market and Girgarre market on the same weekend.
Next weekend will be Mooroopna Farmer's and Craft market on Sunday.
Colbinabbin Primary School Annual Market day on Sunday March 22nd.
Merrigum Historical Society Heritage day on Sunday March 29th.
So a market every weekend this month.

Seymour Expo for the first time had reasonable sales considering the weather is still warm/hot and humid at this time of year.

So lots of work to be done.
