..is for me.
I am heading to Belgrave for a spinning workshop with the Insubordiknit Jacey Boggs. Mandie of EGMTK is the organiser. Should be a great weekend with much spinning and laughter.
Tonight I have a project to take to patchwork and am completing it today. We have been working on Round Robins, so can't put up any photos.
Handcrafting with wool in Kyabram, Victoria. Handspinning. Handdyeing. Machine Knitting.

Craft & Quilt Fair
Off to the quilt show tomorrow for the day. Travelling by bus/train from Kyabram. Always look forward to more crafty sessions.
This weekend I have none of the regular markets so am taking the weekend to do more work at home, including getting on with some Alpaca for a customer.
I am on the computer now also working on some borders for round robin quilts. EQ6 is very helpful.
Better then go into town for some shopping and some material for these projects.
So, currently picking more Alpaca fleece, carding some very light grey, almost silver Corriedale fleece, 2 earflap beanies are off the machine, and another beanie waiting to finish. Handspun wool yarn drying on the clothes horse. Some thick & thin handspun yesterday waiting for the dyepot.
Sunday will incorporate a visit to Rushworth for a Chat & Choose your Craft day. Then sometime I must run into Tongala to catch up with Mandie at Ewe Give Me The Knits.
Two more calves born last night so will have to check on them last thing today as we won't be home till 9.30pm tomorrow.
I am looking forward to reorganzing my days better after this.

a little update....
Due to last weekend's predicted storms and further rainfall I cancelled Nagambie market (disappointingly), but lucky I did as I was coughing and spluttering most of the night and woke up with a sore throat, (I hate being unwell).
As part of the long weekend I organised a felting day for my friend Kaylene who has been wanting to try felting for a long time, and here are the fruits of our labour...
Ten years ago I learnt how to quilt with a group at Rochester under the guidance of Sue Reid and this was my first quilt which was a block of the month we did, and I handquilted it as well.

I was very proud of this first effort and, now I am losing count of the quilts that followed. I do have photos of these quilts but not good for uploading so I will gradually take photos of the ones I still have and then post at times.

Time for crafting....
While the cat's away...Leigh has left for Qld to see his family, and I get to mind the fort. Of course, I have to go to work and look after the animals. The calf got a shock tonight as she has now gone on to one feed.
I left work tonight , picked up Chinese for tea. And now for the past couple of hours have been at the sewing machine sewing quilts. My quilting fix has been poor due to my wool fix, but production is on the way and I have 2 baby quilts and a queen size quilt to do before middle of October. Wish me luck!!
I'll post photos as soon as I can.
The dishes are still on the sink.....

Windy day...
A bit of a slack day catching up with the vacuuming (did I say slack)....
I have washed 7 skeins of alpaca and wool taday, hoping it will dry on the clothesline in the wind. I have been contract spinning some alpaca for an acquaintance from the North East. So far I have spun 8 skeins of this lovely brown of unknown weight. It seems to be a strong fleece so I hope she will be happy with it.
Saturday was another day for spinning and knitting. Sunday grocery shopping then off to Spotlight to buy material for quilts.
I have begun a cotquilt for my nephew's baby boy in Sydney (born earlier this year), then one for my sister's 50th birthday in October, followed by one for my 30 year old daughter who is expecting a baby in October.
Who said life was easy..
